I tried a Pinterest Pin today. Sweet potatoes in the slow cooker. All you do is clean your sweet potatoes and put them in the crock pot still wet and turn it on low. My potatoes were small so it only took about 4 hours to cook 6 potatoes. They turned out great and it’s so easy! I’ll definitely be doing this again. They taste like they were baked in the oven.
A couple thrift store finds. We’re working on making our extra bedroom into Sam’s big kid room. We need to paint the walls (I’m leaning toward painting it white) but I want to add a bunch of color in the form of pictures and decorations. I found this cool map at the Red, White and Blue on Saw Mill Run boulevard. The frame was shiny gold but I spray painted it black.
Then today Sam and I stopped into St. Vincent de Paul on Library Road. It was 50% off miscellaneous day. Jackpot! Pretty much everything in the store that wasn’t clothes or furniture was miscellaneous. I got these two old, blue mason jars for $1. I also picked up two more picture frames for our “gallery wall” that currently consists of just one picture.
I want to do a post about thrift stores coming up because Aaron and I both love to thrift shop and we’ve been to many around Pittsburgh. St. Vincent de Paul is closest to our house so Sam and I are frequent visitors. Every day, they have a different 50% off category. Tuesdays are kid’s day. All kid’s clothes, shoes and books are 50% and I’ve found lots of Baby Gap and Children’s Place clothing there.
Lastly, our new front window came in today so we went to pick it up. We’re very slowly replacing all the windows in our house. This is 2 of 13 and the biggest one in the house.
